Do not soak your bathing suit overnight

You have to remember that soaking your two-piece overnight will discolor it.  Aside from this, you have to make sure that it is completely dry before keeping it away to prevent the discoloring of the fabric.

Be careful in drying it off

You should read the instructions that come with your newly purchased bikini.  The instructions usually contain the methods you can use on drying off your swimwear.  However, if there are no instructions, you can just hang your beachwear indoors.  Do not use a dryer because this may damage the fabric.  You should also avoid putting it under the direct heat of the sun.  Some mesh pieces have lycra content, which could not endure excess heat exposure.  Continuous sun exposure will destroy the elasticity of the fiber and will speed up the fading of the color.

Avoid smearing oil-based sunscreen on your two-piece

The chemicals in an oil-based sunscreen can also damage the fiber of the swimsuit.  This is why you have to be careful in applying a sunscreen.  If you accidentally smear a small amount on the fabric, make sure that you remove it right there and then.
